The Advocate for Children and Young People (ACYP) had initially turned to HubSpot to help manage their marketing efforts, but were looking to get a more well-rounded use of the platform. They were also struggling with a high maintenance website process and needed to find some efficiencies. 

As a government organisation ACYP is also legally bound to adhere to best practise digital accessibility, and this was a non-negotiable feature for the site.

The Challenge

As an independent organisation supported by the NSW Government under the Department of Communities and Justice, ACYP’s mission is to make NSW a better place for children and young people by working to improve their safety, welfare and wellbeing. They ensure that children’s rights are respected and points of view heard by decision makers, and help develop a co-operative relationship between them and their families and communities.

ACYP had previously implemented HubSpot in an effort to improve their marketing engagement with their audience, but they were struggling to get the most out of the system. Their website was also built on a legacy platform which was difficult to maintain, and so they wanted to explore the option of building it on the HubSpot CMS with its easy-to-use interface, and integrating it with their marketing efforts, all in the one place.

To help with their budget, ACYP wanted to recreate the entire website themselves using templates and modules that we would build into the HubSpot CMS.

What Did We Do?

After offering guidance on the best HubSpot setup and architecture for their specific digital and marketing plans, we undertook the UX and UI design for the new website templates and modules. ACYP were very specific about their requirements for the CMS and we set out to develop a fully modular CMS with set variations so that they could build and construct the website internally. 

On top of that, as a government organisation they are required by law to provide a high level of accessibility. This meant that all of the modules not only had to display correctly across multiple devices but also had to adhere to a WCAG 2.0 Level AA standard of accessibility at a minimum.

What Happened Next?

ACYP asked, and we delivered. They couldn’t be happier with their brand new, easily accessible website! It is fully managed internally by ACYP through the user-friendly HubSpot CMS, meaning they have no need for external developers, and it exceeds the minimum accessibility requirements as stated by the NSW government at WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
